    What an incredibly clever piece of kit! Really good , and clean running, too.. Also an excellent video, well filmed, and understandable.

    I don't got a clue of what you were saying but I am very impressed with that stove. Talking about innovation and design. Besides American made product, I also admired those made in Japan and Germany because they're always made with high quality and great design.

    Is that hole in the middle of his pellet basket the air intake? Maybe if he used wood instead of pellets, it would give it more space to allow in air
    Still a pretty awesome design, regardless

  • @RagingAura
    @RagingAura 12 лет назад

    It's a Japanese pre-made rocket stove. Just look up "rocket stove" and see how you can make one yourself for cheap or buy one from many manufacturers around the world. You can use any size wood that fits into the fuel chamber- the Japanese use wood pellets because YOU DO NOT GO AROUND CUTTING DOWN TREES IN JAPAN. This version is inefficient - poor air intake leads to incomplete combustion and lots of smoke. This one is more similar to standard stoves in efficiency than to a real rocket stove.

    I've just spent an hour or so on the web trying to get some information on this thing. Going through Japanese web sites and using Google Translate leaves something to be desired, however, I gather; 1) It's called a 'kirin-kun', kirin means giraffe in Japanese; no idea what 'kun' means. 2) It's made by Uniflame. 3) I gather it's made for domestic consumption, and not for export. Pity....

    I am sure that tube is air intake and I am sure if you allow in more air then you will burn too hot. I think they measured just how much air the thing needed to burn just right.

    That it is a superb design with proveable results and the video is not bad. However a more detailed-perhaps animated-description of the start,middle , finish of the process would be neat. It seems that what you do with it is mind bending!

    基本アウトドアはワンタッチにこだわるべきです(マッチ1本)。煙突側の補助火力はキャンセルしたいです。ペレット投入口の角度とペレット着火剤投入口の位置の工夫で解消できなっかたですか。 ペレット投入口を寝かせることによって使える調理器具は増えます。ストーブ下面の床に対する影響はなさそうなのでもう一息ですか?

    Hi James,
    It is a very interesting stove, however; it looks like a gasifier used for cooking vs. generating fuel for running an engine. Look up gasifier in Google and you will see the similarities in the chemical and working procedure, of course the design can be drafted upon necessity and usage. If you need blue prints email me I will send them to you...
    Best
